Reaching the Beach

One of the best things that happened to us since forming our little walking group, Around Town Hounds, is that we’ve met so many wonderful new friends. One of those friends recently invited Harvey and me to tag along for a few days of R&R at Dewey Beach, DE.

Also visiting Dewey Beach this past weekend? Hundreds of other Greyhounds and their families, who meet up every year for a little event called Greyhounds Reach the Beach!

Here’s Harvey checking out the beach for the first time.

Bad weather was moving out the day we arrived, and was perfect until the day we left.

Some of the vanity plates we spotted.

This one belongs to one of my GUR friends.

This one’s mine.  I think my car was the only one there without decals.

Wheels of another kind. The wagon belongs to a little tripod girl.

Harvey in Rehoboth Bay.

Look at this beautiful home! It looks like a Greene and Greene design.

We stopped by to visit with Giles Henry, who spent the night with me and my boys halfway through his big GUR.

We didn’t participate in many of the scheduled events, but we did join the group photo session on Saturday morning.

My Around Town Hounds friends will appreciate this one!

Harvey and his new best buddy, House, enjoying the beach.

How often do you get the entire beach to yourself?

Many, many thanks to House and his mom for inviting us along, we had a wonderful time. I’ve already promised Harvey that we’ll go back someday.

Rainy Day Monday

Today I wasn't feeling well, so I decided to stay home from work and rest. The boys didn't get their walk this morning, and it was rainy, so they spent most of the day inside. Needless to say, I didn't get much rest.

Here's a little peek at our day.

Jimmy got caught red handed swiping shoes. He dropped them and acted like nothing happened. :o

At some point, Harvey thought the house was too quiet.

Later in the afternoon I decided to dial-in to the office to get caught up on some work. The boys thought I should be doing something else. With them.

Jackson and Harvey tried to help me with one of my reports.

After their busy day spent pestering me, the boys are now sleeping soundly.  :)
